Ljubljana, 25 June 2022 (TDI): Statehood Day (Slovenia’s National Day) is a holiday that is celebrated on 25 June in Slovenia. Slovenia got independence from Yugoslavia on June 25, 1991.
Moreover, the official declaration of independence of Slovenia was held in the capital city, Ljubljana, but the holiday was celebrated on the 25th of June.

Furthermore, the celebration was started with a firing cannon salute. Additionally, on this day people wear traditional clothes. On the other side, major cultural venues are arranged where locals gather for songs, dances, and recitals.
Besides, Slovenia’s National Day is the perfect opportunity to eat specialty cheeses, meats, or olive oil fresh from the Mediterranean.

Further, the National Day of Slovenia is an important event in Slovenian history. After centuries of being under the rule of a variety of empires and unions, Slovenians finally got independence from Yugoslavia.
After that, Slovenians became a sovereign nation. Apart from this, this holiday is to celebrate Slovenian history and culture. In addition, on this day schools, colleges and businesses are closed
