Dubai (TDI): Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, joined Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi of Pakistan to the UAE, along with officials, diplomats, business leaders, and members of the Pakistani community, to mark the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai.
The celebration drew more than 60,000 attendees and was organized by the “Emirates Loves Pakistan” platform in partnership with the Pakistan Association Dubai and supported by Dubai Police. The event offered a meaningful occasion to strengthen bonds within the Pakistani community while reflecting the deep diplomatic friendship between the UAE and Pakistan.
Sheikh Nahyan expressed his warm congratulations, saying, “It is an honour to join you in commemorating Pakistan’s Independence Day. This day stands as a proud testament to the resilience, determination, and achievements of Pakistanis everywhere. Here in Dubai, we celebrate the enduring friendship and brotherhood that unite the peoples of the UAE and Pakistan.”
He emphasized the shared values and cultural heritage that form the foundation of the strong relationship between the two nations. “The UAE stands firmly as a friend and partner to Pakistan. This partnership is continually enriched by the talents, dedication, and creativity of the Pakistani community, who play a vital role in the UAE’s success,” Sheikh Nahyan added.

Highlighting the broader UAE vision, he noted, “Under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and with the support of Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE has become a beacon of tolerance, coexistence, and human fraternity. Our country celebrates diversity and unity, and the Pakistani community is a cherished part of this harmony.”
Sheikh Nahyan also encouraged participation in a national writing competition launched by the Watani Al Emarat Foundation and the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, inviting residents of all backgrounds to share their stories on “What the UAE Means to Me.” He expressed confidence that the Pakistani community would offer inspiring contributions.
On his part, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi spoke proudly of the longstanding fraternal ties between the UAE and Pakistan, noting their strong cooperation across economic, cultural, and human development fields. He affirmed a shared commitment to deepen this partnership through programs that promote cultural exchange and economic collaboration.

The event featured a vibrant cultural program showcasing Pakistan’s rich heritage, including traditional dances, music, cuisine, and artistic displays inspired by the country’s environmental and cultural treasures.
