Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has thanked the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt following a key quadrilateral meeting in Islamabad, reiterating Pakistan’s firm commitment to promoting peace in the Middle East.
The high-level meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, brought together regional stakeholders as part of ongoing efforts to reduce tensions in the conflict between the United States and Iran, which has now entered its second month and raised concerns about wider instability and global energy disruptions.
In a message shared on social media, the prime minister expressed appreciation for Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, acknowledging Riyadh’s restraint and leadership during a difficult period. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Kingdom and stressed the importance of unity across the Muslim world.
Separately, Shehbaz Sharif also welcomed Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, highlighting the need for collective action to end ongoing hostilities that have caused significant human and economic losses across the region.

He praised the contributions of all three countries and reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to play a constructive role in bringing Washington and Tehran to the negotiating table. The prime minister said he was grateful for the confidence these countries have placed in Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional stability.
According to the Foreign Office, the visiting foreign ministers departed Islamabad after concluding consultations, which focused on de-escalation and pathways toward dialogue.
Pakistan has also indicated its willingness to host direct talks between the United States and Iran. Speaking after the meeting, Ishaq Dar said Islamabad would be “honoured” to facilitate meaningful negotiations aimed at achieving a lasting resolution to the conflict.

The country has intensified diplomatic engagement in recent weeks, reaching out to Washington, Gulf capitals and other Muslim nations to create momentum for dialogue. The crisis, triggered by strikes involving the United States and Israel on Iran in late February, continues to pose serious risks to regional stability.
