Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Bahrain on Wednesday for a two-day official visit, the PM Office confirmed.
The delegation accompanying him includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers, and senior officials.
During the visit, PM Shehbaz is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
The Prime Minister’s Office described the visit as a demonstration of the longstanding cordial ties between Pakistan and Bahrain, aimed at fostering a strategic and results-oriented partnership.
Officials noted that the trip would strengthen bilateral relations, open new avenues for collaboration, and deepen people-to-people connections for mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Foreign Office added that PM Shehbaz’s discussions will focus on expanding collaboration in trade, investment, energy, technology, education, and culture.
Last month, Pakistan and Bahrain agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation during the inaugural meeting of the Pakistan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Both sides decided to set up a joint working group to improve coordination in counter-narcotics, counterterrorism, coastguard operations, border security, immigration, and police training.
They also planned to sign memoranda of understanding covering extradition, mutual legal assistance, and specialised battalion training.
