Beijing (TDI): Senior Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Inam Memon on Wednesday held a meeting with a Chinese electric vehicle bus manufacturer in Beijing, inviting the company to establish an EV bus manufacturing plant in Karachi.
The meeting was also attended by Sindh Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, who assured full support from the provincial government for promoting green energy and electric mobility in the province.
Minister Memon said that the Sindh government would provide incentives to investors, including tax exemptions, land availability, and simplifying the regulatory approval process.

He said that the government was committed to modernizing public transport and reducing carbon emissions.
He further said that establishing an EV bus plant in Karachi would create job opportunities and accelerate the shift towards an efficient and cleaner transportation system.
The representatives of the Chinese company showed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Karachi and welcomed the invitation.

A feasibility study will be conducted soon to evaluate the economic and technical viability of the project, with the Chinese investors assuring their cooperation.
