15 June 2021 – (TDI): Today Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. Established on 15 June 2001, SCO is a multilateral organization that worked to bring peace, stability, economic development, and prosperity to the region.
Diplomats from the member states of the SCO including China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, etc highly appreciate the efforts of the organization.
They highlighted that the organization has played an important role in strengthening friendly relations and cooperation among them. Moreover, it has built a spirit of mutual trust, harmony, promoting economic development and cultural respect.
The member states will further coordinate with each other and fight against ongoing issues such as terrorism and extremism. To control and prevent the COVID-19 pandemic all the member states agreed to support each other.
The next SCO Summit may take place in September 2021. Currently, Tajikistan is heading the Presidency of the SCO this time around. There are several activities planned for the SCO 20th Anniversary.
