Harare: July 9, 2021 –(TDI): China fulfilling its aim of a better future for mankind, sent another consignment of almost 2 million Sinovac vaccines to Zimbabwe on Thursday. John Mangwiro, deputy minister of health Zimbabwe received the vaccine at the Harare International airport.
The shipment is important for Zimbabwe as it is the largest supply which hopes to foster a shortage-slowed immunization program as COVID case and death rate is increasing rapidly in Zimbabwe.
Chinese embassy to Zimbabwe shared the news of vaccine arrival via a tweet and stated that China has been and will be a firm support to Zimbabwe in its fight against the pandemic. The embassy in the tweet also advised the people to wear masks, get vaccinated and maintain social distance.
Earlier in June China has sent 500,000 Sino Pharm vaccines to Zimbabwe as humanitarian assistance during the pandemic times.
