Phnom Penh, 18 March 2022 (TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud arrived in Cambodia to pay an official visit. Today, he safely landed at the Phnom Penh International Airport.
His official visit to Cambodia is based on the subject agenda to boost relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Prince Faisal held a bilateral meeting with his Cambodian counterpart Prak Sokhonn and discussed various aspects of relations and cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of common interest and concerns.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the visit of Prince Faisal will deepen cooperation between the both states for the best interest of their people.
View of Cambodian Prime Minister
Prime Minister Hun Sen said that he welcomed and encouraged the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to promote collaboration with Cambodia as a strategic partner, especially in the fields of tourism, agriculture, and trade.

This encouragement comes as Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud came in Cambodia for an official visit on Friday afternoon and met with Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh.
The Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister said that his visit to Cambodia is intended to strengthen the economy and the relationship between the both states.
After the meeting, Prime Minister Hun Sen’s personal assistant namely Eang Sophalleth told that ‘through talks with the Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, it has been concluded that both states Cambodia and Saudi Arabia have great potential for cooperation in tourism, education and energy, agriculture, and other sectors. In this context, Prince Faisal has showed a dire gratitude and requested support from Prime Minister Hun Sen.
Further he added that after receiving this request, Prime Minister Hun Sen welcomed and encouraged the Saudi Arabia to devise a plan to accelerate the work to be achieved.
Vision of Deputy Director Lim Menghour
According to the Deputy Director of the Asian Vision Institute’s Mekong Centre for Strategic Studies namely Lim Menghour, Cambodia’s efforts to strengthen relations with countries in the region and beyond will benefit Cambodia in political and economic fields, among others.
On political front, Cambodia can promote its foreign policy, such as security and stability in the region. In the economic sphere, strengthening relations with other countries could enable Cambodia to seize opportunities from expanding trade as well as investment from those nations.
