Riyadh, 25 March 2022 (TDI): Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Foreign Minister reached Mexico this Thursday, as a part of his tour to Latin America. Many Mexican officials received the Saudi Foreign Minister during his visit.

On Monday, he met with Marcelo Ebrard, the Mexican Foreign Minister in Mexico City. The interest of both nations was deliberated upon, and they also looked at the effective ways to achieve that interests vital for the development and mutual interest of states.

Since the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Minister Conference,  48th Session held in Islamabad many Muslim states have been meeting with different bilateral partners from all over the world.

Saudi-Mexican talks

Different investments opportunities in the Mexican market and efforts to stabilize the Mexican energy sector was also a part of conversation. Energy Secretary Rocio Nahle met the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan as well.

The Foreign Ministers thoroughly praised the attempt by both Mexico and Saudi Arabia to stop the flow of weapons and preservation of international security.

Both states agreed to work on maintenance of peace and to end the Russian-Ukraine war. The Oil and Energy sector is suffering tremendously from this crisis. A disruption in the trade of oil would cause a huge economic blow to the international market.

Prince Faisal also had meetings with the President of Mexican Council on Foreign Affairs Sergio M. and Olga Sanchez Cordero. The next stop of his tour was in Brazil.

He also met different authorities in Brasilia. On Friday, He launched a new Embassy of Saudi Arabia’s Kingdom in the city. This inauguration of the new Embassy was the purpose of his stay in Brazil.
