Saudi Arabia signs deal with China on tourism

Beijing, 30 August 2021 (TDI): The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alibaba Cloud to spur the kingdom’s tourism sector. Alibaba Cloud will equip and train STA with technological understandings to promote the tourism industry of Saudi Arabia. STA will work on making the soft image of Saudi Arabia as a desired tourist destination for Chinese tourists.

STA’s CEO, Fahd Hamidaddin, praised the MoU by saying that it is as a way of “building a digital infrastructure which can provide the destination with a competitive edge and visitors with the best possible experience.” He further noted that we are recovering from the ramifications of pandemic and ready to boost Muhammad Bin Sulieman’s Vision 2030.

This agreement will cement the bilateral relations and open new avenues for the people of both countries. China has also supported Saudi Arabia in increasing its nuclear capabilities.
