Riyadh, 1 September 2022 (TDI): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia congratulated the Slovak Republic on its Constitution Day. The Republic celebrated its 30th Constitution Day on Thursday.

Wishes from Saudi Leadership

The King of Saudi Arabia and custodian of two Holy Mosques, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent a congratulatory cable to the President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Caputova on the anniversary of Constitution Day.

In his message, the Saudi King extended his best wishes for the prosperity of the Slovak Republic and its people. Further, the custodian of the two Holy Mosques also wished the Slovak President good health and happiness.

Moreover, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the crown Prince of Saudi Arabia also extended his greetings to the Slovak President through a cable of congratulation. He wished steady progress and prosperity to the Government and people of the republic.

About Constitution Day

Constitution Day is also termed National Day of the Slovak Republic and is a public holiday across the country. On 1st September 1992, the Republic adopted its first-ever constitution.

Since then, Constitution Day or Deň Ústavy Slovenskej Republiky is celebrated annually on the 1st of September, in the country. However, the constitution was officially signed on September 3rd, 1992 at the Bratislava Castle.

The day is of high significance in the republic as the establishment of the constitution brought an end to Czechoslovakia and led to the establishment of the Slovak and Czech Republics in January 1993.

Further, the day is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. People of the Republic celebrate the day with traditional customs such as folk dancing and traditional day.

In addition, Slovak Parliament and Bratislava Castle are open for the public to visit. Moreover, the castle is lit up in the evening to mark the national day of the country.
