Islamabad, 27 September 2022 (TDI) The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif met the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, on Tuesday. During the meeting, the two sides highlighted opportunities to strengthen Pakistan’s relations with Saudi Arabia.

Moreover, the Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed his hope to strengthen ties between both countries. In this regard, he recalled his recent telephonic conversation with the Crown Prince. Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that there is a shared desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields between governments of both countries.
To sustain the upward trajectory in bilateral relations, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of regular bilateral exchanges at various levels. In conclusion, the Prime Minister conveyed his cordial greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.
The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia also affirmed working with the Pakistani government to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Discussion on Flood Situation:
The Prime Minister of Pakistan took the opportunity to thank the Saudi leadership for their support for Pakistan. He also thanked the people of Saudi Arabia for extending strong support to Pakistan amid these critical times.
It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia is also among the countries which sent humanitarian aid to Pakistan. The aid came as support to bring relief and rehabilitation to the flood-affected people.
The humanitarian aid from Saudi Arabia contains relief products of all kinds from food parcels and dates to tents and blankets. Recently, two more planes containing humanitarian aid from Saudi Arabia landed in Pakistan.
The eighth and ninth Saudi relief planes, laden with 60 tons of aid supplies that can benefit 8,424 people, arrived in Karachi on Monday. The planes are part of the Saudi relief airlift dispatched by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief). This was so to support people affected by floods and rains in Pakistan.
The airlift comes in the implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, and with the follow-up of the Crown Prince.
The ambassador also extended his condolences for the loss of lives due to the unprecedented floods. In response, the Prime Minister appreciated the important contribution of the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to relief efforts. Recently, the Ambassador personally visited flood-affected areas in Pakistan.
