Cairo, 21 October 2023 (TDI): The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on October 20, that the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, and the Special Russian Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov will represent Russia at the Cairo Peace Summit on the Gaza Strip.
The Cairo Peace Summit on the Gaza Strip is to be held in Cairo on October 21, at the initiative of the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi seeking to reduce the military escalation in the Gaza Strip and to address the developments and future of the Palestinian issue.
The President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on October 15, issued the invitation for the Cairo Peace Summit to the world leaders to negotiate on the latest developments in Palestine.
Besides Russia, the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas will be among the international leaders to participate in the Cairo Peace Summit.
Apart from that, the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also confirmed to attend the Summit.
From Europe, the French Foreign Minister, Catherine Colonna, European Council President, Charles Michel, Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni have confirmed to participate in the Summit.
Furthermore, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell will also be attending the Summit.
In addition to that, President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa has confirmed his attendance to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip.
While, the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak will not attend the Summit.
There is still no confirmation of whether the French President, Emmanuel Macron will attend the Summit in Cairo or not.

Besides that, Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, Cypriot President, Nikos Christodoulides, Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, Japanese Foreign Minister, Yoko Kamikawa, and British Foreign Minister, James Cleverly are expected so far to attend the Summit.
But, there has not been any word of whether any political official from the US or China will attend or not.
