Islamabad (TDI): Russia has resolved to enhance bilateral cooperation with Pakistan in diverse fields including trade, investment and diplomacy.
A strong message that the visiting Speaker of the Federation Council of Russian Federal Assembly, Valentina Matviyenko, conveyed during her meeting with Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza GillaniT here on Monday.
The two sides held detailed discussion on matters pertaining to promotion of diplomatic, economic, commercial and parliamentary relations between the two countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani noted that Valentina Matviyenko’s visit to Pakistan will give a further boost to ties between the two countries that will promote regional peace, development and prosperity.
He cherished Russia’s support to Pakistan for improvements in infrastructural development and oil and gas sectors.
The Chairman Senate said enhancing parliamentary relations is crucial and a Pak-Russia friendship group has already been formed in the Senate of Pakistan.

He stressed the need to find new avenues to expand investment in various sectors, and further increase the current trade volume between the two countries.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani said Pakistan is committed to promote communications for regional peace.
On the occasion, the Speaker of the Federation Council of Russian Federal Assembly said Russia highly values its relations with Pakistan.
She said promotion of parliamentary relations will not only augment trade and investment between the two countries, but also help bring the two nations close
