Wahington D.C: July 19, 2021 -(TDI): South Korean Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Choi Jongmoon, is expected to visit Washington D.C. from July 19-22. A meeting is to be held with the key officials of the White House, the Department of State and House Representatives. The agenda behind this meeting is to assess the outcomes of the ROK-U.S. Summit that was conducted in May and to discuss their advances regarding implementation of the central topics of the aforementioned dialogue.
They plan to converse on global vaccine partnership, prospects for further cooperation in the fields of science and technology, develop a supply chain resilience of semi-conductors as well as high-capacity batteries and most importantly, the New Southern Policy along with their coinciding vision regarding a free and open Indo-Pacific.
In addition, Vice Minister Choi plans to take part in the 4th ROK-U.S. Joint Public-Private Economic Forum that will be held on July 21, 2021 where he will deliver a keynote speech regarding the ROK-U.S. alliance that he believes is vital to restore the global economic order.
