Riyadh (TDI): A high-level ministerial meeting hosted by Saudi Arabia has called on Iran to “immediately and unconditionally” stop its attacks on Gulf countries amid intensifying regional conflict.
According to a statement issued by the Saudi Foreign Ministry, participating nations strongly condemned Iran’s missile and drone strikes and held Tehran fully responsible for the escalation. The ministers urged Iran to cease hostilities at once and comply with United Nations Security Council resolutions, warning that its actions violate sovereignty and international law.
The meeting, held in Riyadh, brought together representatives from Azerbaijan, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Pakistan, Turkiye, Syria, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon and Egypt. Pakistan was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who had arrived in the Saudi capital a day earlier.
Participants also expressed concern over Iran’s support for regional militias, calling on Tehran to reassess its approach. They cautioned that continued aggression could carry serious consequences, not only for regional security but also for Iran’s relations with neighbouring states.
The ministers further warned against any attempt to disrupt maritime routes, particularly through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, stressing the importance of safeguarding global shipping lanes.

At the same time, the meeting reaffirmed support for the sovereignty and stability of Lebanon while condemning Israeli military actions there. Lebanon has been drawn deeper into the wider conflict following cross-border exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah.
The participants agreed to maintain close coordination and consultations to develop a unified stance and adopt necessary measures to protect their national security and territorial integrity.
Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said the kingdom reserves the right to respond militarily if attacks continue. Speaking after the meeting, he accused Iran of attempting to pressure its neighbours through force, warning that such tactics would backfire.

Saudi Arabia reported fresh missile activity, with explosions heard in Riyadh and air defense systems intercepting incoming threats. Prince Faisal condemned what he described as repeated targeting of civilian infrastructure, dismissing Iran’s justification that it was aimed at US assets in the region. “Escalation will be met with escalation,” he said, adding that Gulf states would not yield to intimidation.
