Los Angeles, 13 August 2024 (TDI): Starring in Pokémon TV shows, movies, and video games since the late 1990s, voice actress Rachael Lillis passed away at the age of 46 from breast cancer.
The popular Japanese anime series also featured Lillis as the voice of numerous characters, including Misty and Jessie.
Veronica Taylor, who co-stars as Ash Ketchum, the main Pokémon character, revealed her passing.
In her writing, Ms. Taylor stated: “Rachael Lillis had a beautiful voice with a brilliant shine to it all the time.”
On Monday, Ms. Taylor posted on social media, “We all know Rachael Lillis from her many outstanding roles. Her wonderful voice, amazing comedic timing, and acting prowess filled our Saturday mornings and the hours before and after school.”
She stated that Rachael Lillis was appreciative of the help she had while battling cancer.
On a GoFundMe created earlier this year to seek money for Lillis’s cancer treatment and to transfer her into a nursing home, her sister Laurie Orr, also verified Lillis’s passing.
Since her death was disclosed, supporters have donated more than $100,000 (£78,000) to the website, stating that her “light shone bright” via her work and that she “went too soon and much too young.”
According to Ms. Laurie Orr, the money will now be used for “efforts to combat cancer,” a memorial service, and the payment of outstanding medical expenses.
