Ceremonies to promote FIFA

Doha, 4 November 2022 (TDI): Different Embassies of Qatar around the world are organizing events to promote the FIFA World Cup 2022, to be held in Qatar.

Event at the Consulate in Greece

The Qatar embassy in Athens conducted a promotional pavilion amid the 11th Arab-Hellenic Economic Forum to promote World Cup.

Event at the Chinese Consulate

In Guangzhou, Qatar’s Consulate of China held a ceremony in cooperation with Qatar Tourism Authority’s representative office.

The Consul General of Qatar in China, Mohamed Al-Maadeed enunciated that Qatar is doing preparations and events to make this global sporting event a success in conformity with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Among others were representatives of major local and international companies, Airport Authority Hong Kong, and the Alumni Association of Jinan University.

Event at the Canada Consulate

In Ottawa, the Embassy of Qatar organized a major ceremony for FIFA promotion. Among the attendees of the promotional event were officials in the Canadian government.

The Canadian Parliament representatives and the representatives of the Canadian sports authorities also attended the events.

Other participants were members of civil society and academics along with a host of members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Canada.

Ahmed Hussen, the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion in Canada, highlighted the significance of the global football event. He expressed his wishes for qualification of Canada’s men’s team to the finals.

Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Canada, Khalid Al-Mansouri said that the State of Qatar has spared no effort to provide the best conditions and means for the tournament’s success.

He stressed that the tournament will bring joy and pleasure to the hearts of people amid the political and regional crisis faced by the world.

It is pertinent to mention here that a part of the pavilion was dedicated to countries already qualified for the World Cup 2022.

The performances received a standing ovation from the attendees. It is to be noted that the FIFA World Cup is going to be held on the 20th of November 2022.
