Qatar Lauds Pakistan Armed Forces’ Role in Counterterrorism

Doha (TDI): General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), is on an official visit to Qatar for the second round of the Higher Military Cooperation Committee (HMCC) meeting.

During the visit, he held talks with Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, as well as Lt General (Pilot) Jassim Mohammad Ahmed Al-Mannal, Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces.

Discussions focused on the evolving regional security environment, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to peace and stability at regional and global levels.

General Mirza underscored the historic brotherly ties between Pakistan and Qatar and highlighted new avenues for cooperation in defense and security under the HMCC framework.

The civil and military leadership of Qatar acknowledged Pakistan’s pivotal and responsible role in ensuring regional stability and appreciated professionalism and sacrifices of Pakistan Armed Forces in fight against terrorism.

Earlier upon arrival at Qatar Armed Forces Headquarters, a smartly turned out military contingent presented “Guard of Honour” to Chairman JCSC.
