Berlin, 7 July 2022 (TDI): The Director of the Department of Policy and Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Dr. Khalid bin Fahad Al Khater met German parliamentarians.
The meeting was held during his visit to Berlin. During the visit, the Minister met several members of the National Parliament (Bundestag) of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The meetings with the parliamentarians included Member of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Alexander Radwan, Christian Social Party MP, and Spokesperson for Transatlantic Relations of the CDU Parliamentary Group, Thomas Silberhorn.
In addition, Member of the Energy and Climate Committee for the Socialist Party, Bengt Bergt, was also in attendance along with the Member of the Alternative for Germany and the Chairman of the German-Iranian Friendship Committee, Roger Beckamp.
During the meeting with the German parliamentarians, ways to enhance cooperation were reviewed. A number of issues of common interest were also discussed.
Dr. Khalid bin Fahad Al Khater also paid a visit to officials in German Think Tanks.

A Strengthened Partnership
Qatar and Germany, previously this year, had vowed to enhance their cooperation, especially in the energy sector.
Along these lines, the German Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Robert Habeck, met the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in March.
During the meeting, ways to strengthen bilateral ties in the economy and energy sector were discussed. According to the Foreign Minister of Qatar, a fruitful dialogue on expanding economic cooperation to achieve common interests was held.
Berlin and Doha also focus on developing renewable energy projects and measures that enhance efficiency.
