Organizing the Workshop in the tech hub, PWiC aimed to enhance its network of engineers and grow as a community during their work in Europe.

PWiC is a global community of women hailing from Pakistan and their global allies. It aims to enhance collaboration and follow the path of growing, inspiring, celebrating, mentoring, and creating opportunities for each other.

‘I am Remarkable’ Initiative

I am Remarkable is a Google initiative aimed to empower women and underrepresented groups. However, it has now become more open and versatile to celebrate anyone’s achievements in the workplace and beyond.

The major focus of this initiative is the self-promotion motivation and skills of women and underrepresented groups. It also breaks the taboos around the perception of self-promotion which the general public sometimes considers bragging.

The initiative features panel discussions, workshops, and virtual talks in different countries and cities. These workshops are usually 90-minute sessions run by facilitators trained by Google.

Additionally, the workshops highlight the importance of self-promotion in their careers and provide them with the tools to practice this skill.

About Workshop

The Workshop started with opening Remarks from Sidra Khan who works as a google content writer. Moreover, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany, Mohammad Faisal also attended the workshop. During his address, he highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment and their role in society.

Additionally, the Ambassador encouraged the underrepresented groups to share their achievements and talents and boost their confidence through such workshops.

Furthermore, he advised everyone to express their achievements freely because it will not only help them but also motivate others.

The Workshop highlighted that many people struggle when it comes to talking about their accomplishments. They do not acknowledge their accomplishment or express their achievements because of cultural and gender modesty norms as well as impostor syndrome.

Therefore, during the Workshop, participants learned the importance of self-promotion in their personal and professional life. Moreover, they learned the importance of equipping themselves with tools that can help develop and polish different skills. Many local and Pakistani-based partners attended the event.
