Moscow (TDI): Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his condolences to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian following the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and members of his family.
In a message released by the Kremlin, Putin described the killing as a “cynical violation of all norms of human morality and international law,” and conveyed Russia’s sympathy to Iran’s leadership and people.
Putin said that Khamenei would be remembered in Russia as an outstanding statesman who played a key role in strengthening relations between Russia and Iran, helping elevate bilateral ties to what he described as a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The Russian president extended his condolences to Khamenei’s family, the Iranian government, and the Iranian nation, expressing solidarity with Iran during what he called a period of profound loss.
