Islamabad, 5 September 2024 (TDI): A delegation from the Pakistan IT Association (P@SHA) visited the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) headquarters in Islamabad to discuss ways to facilitate IT companies and software houses.
The meeting aimed to create a smooth and congenial business environment for the sector.
Chairman PTA, Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, welcomed the delegation and assured them that PTA is working proactively to ease doing business for the IT sector.
He emphasized that uninterrupted access is crucial for the efficient working of the IT industry, and PTA is ensuring that IT exporters stay connected and safe while delivering services internationally.
To facilitate software houses and IT companies, PTA is registering IP addresses for VPNs, a process available on the PTA and PSEB websites. This “one window operation” takes only 2-3 days and is free of cost.
The P@SHA delegation appreciated PTA’s cooperation in facilitating the software houses whenever approached.
The delegation expressed satisfaction that internet speeds have normalized, and the industry is back on track. This development is expected to boost the growth of the IT sector in Pakistan.
The meeting between P@SHA and PTA highlights the collaborative efforts between the two organizations to create a conducive environment for the IT industry.
