Astana, 5 September 2024 (TDI): Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are preparing for a joint launch of artificial satellites to enhance data study and analysis capabilities.
The announcement came following a meeting in Astana between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev.
During the meeting, both ministers explored avenues for collaboration in digital technologies.
They emphasized the importance of digital skills training, regional cooperation in digital inclusion and transformation, and strategies to enhance these efforts.

A key focus of the discussion was the possibility of launching a mutual constellation of artificial satellites to facilitate data study and analysis.
The two sides agreed to prepare and finalize relevant proposals for this initiative by the end of the year.
Regional Cooperation
The ministers also discussed the development of joint regional cooperation plans to accelerate digital innovation across both countries, reflecting their shared commitment to advancing technological progress in Central Asia.
