Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Baku, Azerbaijan on 12-13 November 2024 to take part in the “World Leaders’ Climate Action Summit” during the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
The Prime Minister will be joined by Deputy Foreign Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar along with other high-ranking officials.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to address the World Leaders Climate Action Summit on 13 November 2024.
He will participate in various high-level events alongside the Summit and conduct bilateral meetings with global leaders. Numerous prominent events and roundtable discussions organized by Pakistan will be conducted at the Pakistan Pavilion during COP29.

During COP29, Pakistan will advocate for comprehensive and ambitious advancements across all areas, including loss and damage, adaptation, mitigation, and means of implementation.
It will pursue reliable funding to support the climate objectives of developing nations.
Pakistan will emphasize the historical responsibility and the principle of Equity and Common but Differentiated Responsibility, urging developed nations to implement more significant emission reductions.
