Orchard, 15 September 2021 (TDI): Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore, wholeheartedly welcomed the Foreign Minister and State Councilor of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, in the Istana (the office of the President of the Republic of Singapore). Lee also wrote a message on Facebook and talked about his candid and productive conversation on regional and international developments.
In a Facebook post, the Prime Minister asserted the long-standing ties of China and Singapore and said that the two states should work together to manage the pandemic by sharing expertise and resources. He added that China’s continued contribution is always welcomed by Singapore and will always work with China for a peaceful and harmonious world and then signed off with the emojis of two countries’ flags.
Lee Hsien Loong also tweeted on his Twitter account, “Glad to welcome PRC State Councilor & Foreign Minister Wang Yi to the Istana this morning. We discussed global & regional developments, and also reaffirmed the longstanding ties between our countries.”

The two sides also embraced the 30th anniversary of China-ASEAN Diplomatic Relations this year.
