Davos, 18 January 2023 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili met with the President of Switzerland, Alain Berset in Davos during the World Economic Forum as the discuss ways to foster trade relations.
The World Economic Forum is currently happening in Davos and has brought several heads of State and stakeholders together as they discuss ways to promote the economic development of their countries.

The heads of Switzerland and Georgia discussed issues such as the successful Georgia-Switzerland cooperation and prospects for deepening economic and trade relations, giving much attention to Georgia’s role in the Black Sea region.
These issues have been a great concern to both countries, especially now that they are all seeking to raise the economic standards of their countries. The issue of how to develop these trade relations was based on the current economic tread of both countries.
Georgia has been a strong partner in foreign exchange for most countries when it comes to trade relations and likewise their counterpart, Switzerland.
The Prime Minister stated that Georgia is always ready to extend their trade hands to any country willing to work closely with them for the benefit of the general population of the Swiss people.
The issue of the Black Sea region has been a great benefit to them when it comes to bilateral relations. Both parties also reiterated the need to encourage private-sector partnerships among these countries.
They stated that when various private sector stakeholders come together for trade relations it turns yields foreign exchange for all of them.
In line with the above, the diplomatic relations between these two countries have also been talked about. The aim to promote a common ground for a further strengthening of diplomatic relations between these two countries was discussed.
It is pertinent to note that these two countries have continued to relate with each other for all these years.
