Kyiv, 18 July 2022 (TDI): The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy talked with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau on Sunday.
The Prime Minister and President discussed maintaining strong ties along with collaborating with partners to condemn Russia’s unjustifiable war on international platforms.
They further debated the importance of global support to increase pressure on Russia. The two leaders strongly condemned the horrific attacks by Russia.
President Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Trudeau for Canada’s powerful defense support to Ukraine. He also underlined the fact that Russia’s aggressive tactics have killed many civilians and destroyed the infrastructure of Ukraine.
Spoke to @JustinTrudeau. Thanked for the continued powerful defense support. Reiterated that the international position on sanctions must be principled. After the terrorist attacks in Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Chasiv Yar, etc. the pressure must be increased, not decreased.

He said that the attacks Russia has done in Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, and other numerous places are an example of state terrorism. Consequently, sanctions on Russia should be further increased.
Remarks by Canadian Prime Minister
The Prime Minister of Canada appreciated the courage with which the people of Ukraine are fighting against Russia. He said that it is influencing all the people around the globe and shows the strength Ukrainians own.

He further affirmed to the President of Ukraine that Canada will stand by Ukraine’s side till the end of this war. It will support Ukraine against the illegal invasion of Russia.
Likewise, Canada will continue to assist and provide aid to the people of Ukraine. Furthermore, he underscored the fact that with unity and support from allies, they can impose severe restrictions on Russia.
Along these lines, he said that Canada will keep on supporting Ukraine, and together they can continue to hold the Russian regime accountable for their brutal actions.
The two leaders while discussing the importance of international support committed to standing together to protect the democratic values against enemies’ aggression.
They concluded their talk with an assurance of support and commitment to keeping in close contact in the future as well.
