Prime Minister Imran Khan meets President of Belarus

Islamabad, 16 September 2021 (TDI): Prime Minister Imran Khan held meetings with foreign leaders during his visit to Tajikistan, where he would attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2021.

He met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

Pakistan and Belarus enjoy cordial relations based on a common approach on issues of regional and international significance. The meeting was about strengthening Pakistan and Belarus relations. President Lukashenko presented souvenirs of his country to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed satisfaction at the growing cooperation between the two countries. Prime Minister of Pakistan committed to further enhancing relations with Belarus across all fields of mutual interests such as trade, investment, agriculture, defense, and industry. They also agreed to cooperate at the highest parliamentary and political levels.

The two leaders exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan. Prime Minister emphasized that as Pakistan was affected by conflict and instability for over 40 years, it has a vital interest in peace and stable Afghanistan.
