Islamabad, 27 August 2024 (TDI): President Asif Ali Zardari Tuesday conferred Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon General Li Qiaoming – the Commander of People’s Liberation Army Ground Forces of China.
The prestigious award was conferred at a special investiture ceremony at the President’s House, in recognition of Gen Li Qiaoming’s distinguished services and significant contributions to enhancing Sino-Pak defence relations.

General Li Qiaoming’s four-decade career and his significant contributions to the Chinese military were highlighted during the ceremony.
It was cited that General Li enjoys a reputation as a capable and courageous officer in the PLA owing to his intellect, administrative skills, and dedication.
He was also commended for strengthening Pakistan-China military relations through his unwavering commitment.

Earlier on Monday, General Li also called upon Army Chief General Asim Munir.
During the meeting, General Li hailed the Pakistan Army’s rigorous efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism while recognizing its professionalism and dedication.
Both dignitaries discussed various aspects of bilateral relations, especially the defence and strategic partnerships.
