President of South Africa Met With the Zimbabwe FM

Pretoria, 10 September 2021 (TDI): President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa met with the Foreign Minister of Zimbabwe, Dr. Fredrick Shava.

Both parties greeted each other and discussed bilateral cooperation as the two counties have had a cordial relationship. Recently, there have been bilateral tensions due to political unrest in Zimbabwe. Apart from this, South Africa has a mission in Harare, while Zimbabwe has an embassy in Pretoria. South Africa has been a major trading partner of Zimbabwe according to the records of last year where the imports from the regional powerhouse reached 47 percent. During the meeting, the discussion on trade was the focal point as the Foreign Minister of Zimbabwe is also in charge of international trade for Zimbabwe.

This meeting will prove to be beneficial for both countries as it is a step towards better trade relations and bilateral cooperation.
