President of Pakistan receives Credentials from Ambassadors

Islamabad, 1 July 2022 (TDI): The Ambassador of the US, Turkiye, Australia, Sudan, Bhutan, and candidates of the EU mission to Pakistan presented their Credentials to the President of Pakistan.

Ambassador of the United States of America

Donald Armin Blome, Ambassador of the United States of America, presented his credentials to President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

While speaking with the US Ambassador, the President emphasized the need for a constructive and sustained engagement between the two nations based on mutual respect and mutual interest to achieve peace, prosperity, and security in our area.

Firstly, He went on to say that this year would mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-USA diplomatic ties, which will be appropriately commemorated.

The President highlighted that there had been a good momentum of interaction between Pakistan and the United States through conversations.

Conversations on the Climate Change, Health, Energy, Trade, and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA).

Sudan’s Ambassador

Mr. Salih Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed Siddig, Sudan’s Ambassador, submitted his credentials to President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

While speaking with Sudan’s Ambassador, the President praised the two nations’ historically close connections, bilateral cooperation, and coordination at the OIC and UN.

Omer Mohamed Ahmed Siddig remained as Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2019-2021.

Ambassador of Turkiye

Dr. Mehmet Pacaci, Ambassador of Turkiye, submitted his credentials to President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

In addition, when speaking with Turkiye’s Ambassador, the President expressed pleasure with the two countries’ convergence on crucial problems such as Kashmir, Northern Cyprus, Islamophobia, and Afghanistan.

Further, he stated that both nations will appropriately commemorate the 75th anniversary of the beginning of diplomatic ties between the two fraternal countries on November 30th this year.

He also emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral commercial and investment relations with Turkiye.

Australia’s High Commissioner in Pakistan

Mr. Neil Hawkins, Australia’s High Commissioner, handed his credentials to President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

During a meeting with Australia’s High Commissioner in Pakistan, the President stated that Pakistan provided appealing business prospects in a variety of areas.

Additionally, Australian firms may invest in infrastructure development, agriculture, renewable energy, mining, manufacturing, water, and waste management,” the President stated.

He went on to say that Pakistan had a significant pool of highly competent people resources in numerous fields, as well as, including graduates from top Pakistani and Western universities.

He was especially pleased with the numerous educational options available to Pakistani students in Australia.

Ambassador of the European Union

Ms. Riina Kionka, Ambassador of the European Union, presented her credentials to President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

In a meeting with the Ambassador of the EU delegation to Pakistan, the President noted that Pakistan cherished its relations with the EU.

President was pleased that Pak-EU relations were progressing in all areas of coordination.

Moreover, he said that GSP+ has been a mutually advantageous scheme for the growth of bilateral commerce between Pakistan and the EU.

He went on to say that Pakistan considered the GSP+ plan as a positive engagement aimed at improving its economy and supporting its economic goals.

Bhutan’s non-resident Ambassador

Mr. Rinchen Kuentsyl, Bhutan’s non-resident Ambassador, presented his credentials to President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

President told the Non-Resident Ambassador of Bhutan that Pakistan was highly proud of its rich Buddhist tradition.

The President stated that Pakistan would welcome Bhutanese religious tourism, which would assist increase people-to-people contact between the two nations.

Also, he promised the Ambassador that Pakistan would continue to support Bhutan’s human resource development with Pakistan’s professional institutes.

In conclusion, the President congratulated the envoys on their appointments. He expressed the hope that they would make efforts to further broaden bilateral relations with Pakistan in different fields.
