Ramallah 7 October 2023 (TDI): The President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas convened an urgent leadership meeting, bringing together civilian and security officials to address the pressing situation faced by the people of the country.
During this critical gathering, President Abbas emphasized the paramount importance of safeguarding citizens and reiterated the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to defend themselves against the terrorism perpetrated by settlers and occupation forces.
The President has issued clear directives to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to bolster the resilience of the people in the face of the grave crimes committed by Israel and its affiliated groups.

The recent Israeli response resulted in the tragic loss of 210 innocent Palestinian lives, with nearly a thousand Palestinians suffering injuries, many in critical condition.
Initial reports indicate that over 800 are wounded, with dozens of them in precarious health. Additionally, there have been reports of prisoners from the Israeli army and settlers.
President Abbas stated that he stands resolutely in support of people’s rights and their determination to defend themselves against any form of aggression.
