Paris, 10 June 2024 (TDI): French President Emmanuel Macron hosts US President Joe Biden at the 80th Anniversary of D-day on 8 June 2024 during this visit both counterparts talk about the Middle East, Ukraine, and Trade.
During this visit, the Presidents of the United States and France discussed issues related to the Middle East, Ukraine, and trade.
US President Joe Biden said, “It was great sitting down with President Macron to discuss support for Ukraine, the need for a free and open Indo-Pacific, the crisis in the Middle East, and efforts to combat climate change. The US and France will continue to tackle our most pressing issues together.”
Moreover, Biden said, “France and the United States stand together to defend the values that lie at the soul of both our nation’s liberty, equality, and brotherhood.”
Additionally, “Generation after generation, people across both our nations have upheld these ideals because they know when we stand as one, our countries are stronger and the world is safer”, Biden added.

Discussion on Regional Issues
Both partners committed to working together to prevent regional tension from Israel’s war with militant group Hamas in Gaza.
Moreover, both presidents welcomed the four hostages rescued by Israeli forces. President Biden said, “We won’t stop working until all the hostages come home and a ceasefire is reached.”

President Macron said, “We see eye to eye on this war raging in Ukraine. We took joint decisions authorizing Ukraine to fight back and strike its aggressor when defending its territory. We are, of course, making great efforts to arm, train, and equip the Ukrainian army.”
Lastly, President Macron thanked President Biden and said, “You are not just the first of the greatest world powers but you are a clear and loyal partner who respects Europeans and who wants to build on these agreements from the Ukraine to the Middle East, through what we’re taking up today on the economic front.”
