Belgium, 1st September 2021 (TDI): The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, congratulated Mr. Alar Karis on his election as the new President of Estonia. The President wished for a more prosperous and stronger partnership for peace and prosperity in the European Union. Furthermore, he thanked the ex-President Kersti Kalijulaid for excellent cooperation in the past for upholding the values of the EU and working for freedom. He hoped to continue the same work in the future.
