ISLAMABAD, (TDI): President Asif Ali Zardari has said there is a need to focus on promoting connectivity among regional countries and help strengthen economic culture as well as economic operations.
During his stay in Ashgabat, the president attended the international forum on “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development”, marking the 300th birth anniversary of Magtymguly Faragi, a renowned Turkmen thinker, philosopher and poet.
In his Friday’s address to the forum, attended by a number of heads of state, leaders from various countries and representatives from international organizations, he stressed need for regional integration, interconnectivity and cooperation.

He also highlighted similarities between thoughts as well as works of Magtymguly Faragi and founder, great thinker and national poet of Pakistan Allama Iqbal. He said said that both shares similarities in their thoughts on Sufism and nationalism.
His address, in this connection, highlighted chances of cultural and intellectual integration in the region, certain analysts maintain.
He hoped that the teachings of Faragi would bring peace and development in the region for the next generations.
He also talked on cultural integration and similarities.
At the sidelines of the forum he interacted with leaders from the regional countries and held important meetings with his Russian counterpart and President of Turkmenistan.
He also met leaders from Turkiye and other regional countries.

He stressed regional connectivity and cooperation for development during his meetings and address to the forum. He also discussed revamping communication with the countries including Turkiye.
He concluded his two-day official visit to Turkmenistan with positive impression by highlighting Pakistan aspiration for development, interconnectivity and its cultural integration in the region, analysts said.
