President Alvi met Saudi Ambassador and IIU-President

Islamabad, 27 August (TDI): The President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi met Dr. Nawaf Bin Saeed Al-Maliki, the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, and Dr. Hathal Hamood Al-Otaibi, the President of International Islamic University Islamabad.

President Alvi expressed that Islamabad values Pak-Saudi ties based on shared faith and mutual dignity. He added that it was time the two countries uplifted friendly ties for mutual gains. There exist the economic and cultural potential for the two brotherly states to deepen the ties and became more closely coordinated through apex-level engagement between the two countries.

President Alvi also highlighted two such recent high-level visits of Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia in May 2021 and the Saudi Foreign Minister to Pakistan in July 2021. These visits from two sides of the leaders further strengthened the bilateral ties.

At that moment, the President of International Islamic University, Dr. Hathal Hamood Al-Attibi addressed Pakistani President, Dr. Arif Alvi, on improved governance and quality of education through a newly devised plan by the International Islamic University, Islamabad. He added that the university would be introducing a separate department for a distant-learning system of education.

President Alvi said that the newly introduced policies of HEC would help check drug use in educational institutions. He added that the special students would not be charged for tuition fees, boarding, and utility bills.
