Polish Envoy Highlights Trade Growth with Pakistan at Constitution Day Reception

Islamabad (TDI): The Polish Ambassador to Pakistan, Maciej Pisarski, praised the strengthening of bilateral relations and Pakistan’s pivotal role in international diplomacy during a reception commemorating Poland’s Constitution Day, on Tuesday.

Pakistan’s Federal Minister Musadik Masood Malik, senior diplomats, and military representatives also participated in the event.

The Ambassador highlighted the “Islamabad Process” as a critical mediation effort that has already contributed to regional de-escalation.

Reflecting on his four-and-a-half-year tenure, Pisarski emphasized that the partnership between Warsaw and Islamabad has reached a new peak, characterized by a $1.3 billion trade volume which he described as a “genuine GSP plus miracle in the working” and significant Polish investments in Pakistan’s energy sector.

Ambassador Pisarski utilized the platform to address global humanitarian concerns, advocating for a consistent application of international law across all conflicts.

He said, “The human sufferings, especially the civil population, in one place should not, could not, make us numb to the sufferings of others; that the land grab either through a state action or by illegal settlements are just two incarnations of theft, which is obviously a crime; that there cannot be peace without justice.”

He specifically noted that Poland remains hopeful for the success of Pakistan’s mediation in the Middle East, while also acknowledging continued support for Ukrainian sovereignty and the necessity of self-determination for all nations.

Beyond political and economic cooperation, the Ambassador highlighted the deep-rooted people-to-people connections and cultural heritage that define the two nations.

He pointed to Polish investments of $0.5 billion in Sindh’s gas exploration by the Orlen Group and social projects supporting women’s empowerment in Hunza as tangible legacies of his mission.

By concluding his address on a personal note of gratitude, Pisarski praised the unique experiences and encounters he has had in Pakistan, ending his speech with a call for continued solidarity.
