ISLAMABAD, (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the formulation of an action plan to ensure the safe and swift evacuation of Pakistanis from Syria via neighboring countries. Especially those who are wishing to return earlier.
During a meeting in Islamabad today, focused on the evacuation process due to the escalating situation in Syria, the Prime Minister emphasized that the safety of Pakistani citizens in Syria is the government’s top priority.
He called for all available resources to be deployed to facilitate their safe return. Foreign Office is already through Pakistan Embassy in Damascus is actively in touch with Pakistani in Syria.

The Prime Minister also directed the Pakistani Embassy in Damascus to set up an information desk and a helpline to assist citizens in need. That desk is working and supporting Pakistanis in Syria.

Additionally, he ordered that the Crisis Management Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with information desks at the Pakistani embassies in Syria and neighboring countries, operate 24/7 until the security situation stabilizes.
