Islamabad, 13 August 2024 (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a reward of Rs150 million for javelin star Arshad Nadeem for his historic win at the Paris Olympics 2024.
The prime minister announced this during a banquet hosted in honour of the star athlete at the Prime Minister’s office in honour of Arshad Nadeem. He also announced a reward of Rs100 million for Arshad Nadeem’s coach Salman Iqbal Butt.

Arshad created history with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 metres, beating his Indian counterpart and defending champion Neeraj Chopra.
With his thrilling performance, Nadeem secured the first-ever individual gold medal for his country.

The massive announcement comes hours after Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz visited Arshad’s hometown Mian Channu and handed him a cheque of Rs100 million along with the keys to a brand-new Honda Civic with the registration number PAK-9297 – in the memory of Arshad’s record-shattering throw.
Maryam also gave Arshad’s coach a cheque for Rs 50 million.
