Mian Channu, 13 August 2024 (TDI): To meet Pakistan’s national hero, Arshad Nadeem, CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz travelled to Mian Channu.
Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, arrives at Arshad Nadeem’s home. Arshad and his family greeted Punjab’s first female chief minister when she arrived by helicopter at the national hero’s village.
In a statement released by PML-N, CM Maryam greeted the athlete’s mother, Razia Parveen, at home with an embrace. The chairman of the province praised Arshad for representing his homeland honorably at a global event.
The chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, gave Arshad Nadeem 100 million PKR in along with the keys to a brand-new Honda Civic with the registration number PAK-9297.
The daughter of Nawaz Sharif also gave Arshad’s coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, a cheque for Rs 50 million.
Maryam Nawaz captioned the photos with an emoji of the Pakistani flag and wrote on X, “Well-done Arshad Nadeem.”
She also announced to construct a stadium in Mian Channu, the native village of Arshad Nadeem.
She stated that the prayers of parents take a person from earth to heaven. She thanked the people of the village as well for warmly welcoming her.
On August 8th, at the Paris Olympics 2024, Arshad made the nation proud by throwing a javelin at a record-breaking distance of 92.97 meters.

His throw enabled Pakistan to break its forty-year-long drought of not winning an individual gold medal at the Summer Games.
