Minsk (TDI): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday laid a wreath at the Victory Monument of Minsk to pay tribute to the people who died during World War Two.
As the Prime Minister, along with his delegation members, arrived at Victory Square, the smartly turned-out contingents of the Belarusian armed forces saluted him.
The national anthems of Pakistan and Belarus were played.
On the occasion, Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin was also present, who, earlier, warmly received PM Shehbaz at the airport.

Later, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko hosted a dinner at his farm house in honour of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and ex-PM Nawaz Sharif.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also attended the dinner.
President Lukashenko expressed extraordinary warmth for PM Shehbaz and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The premier thanked President Lukashenko for the warm welcome and hospitality.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation arrived in Belarus on a two-day official visit on Thursday at the invitation of President Lukashenko.
This trip follows President Lukashenko’s important visit to Pakistan in November 2024.

Over the past six months, a series of high-level bilateral engagements—including the Eighth Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission in February 2025 and a subsequent trip by a high-powered mixed ministerial delegation to Belarus in April 2025- have laid the groundwork for a productive visit.

During President Lukashenko’s visit to Pakistan in November 2024, the two sides discussed regional and international matters and expressed satisfaction over the positive progress in all aspects of bilateral ties during the past decade.
Pakistan and Belarus also inked eight memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to increase bilateral trade and cooperation during the Pakistan-Belarus Business Forum in Islamabad.
