PM, Saudi Minister review progress on economic ties

Riyadh (TDI): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday held a meeting with the Saudi Investment Minister Engr. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih and Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri, Advisor Royal Court on the sidelines of the Arab Islamic Summit in Riyadh.

The meeting was held to follow-up on the recent engagements for economic cooperation between the two countries.

In his visit in the last week of October, he also held joint press conference with two Saudi leaders in Riyadh pledging for enhancing economic cooperation.

The Prime Minister appreciated the progress on major projects under discussion and acknowledged the efforts of the technical teams for their close cooperation to further strengthening economic partnership in diverse fields.

The Prime Minister is on a visit to Saudi Arabia to participate in the Arab Islamic Summit in Riyadh.

He is also expected to have bilateral talks with certain leaders from OIC members countries

The prime minister address to the key summit is scheduled and he will reiterate Pakistan’s full support to the Palestinian cause.

He is also expected to raise issue of Israel’s ban on UN body’s operations for humanitarian assistance in the occupied areas.

He will urge for an immediate end to the genocide in Gaza, urging an urgent and unconditional ceasefire and immediate cessation of the ongoing Israeli adventurism in the region that is endangering security of the countries in the Middle East.

Pakistan will stress providing international protection for the Palestinian people and for establishment of an independent state of Palestine on the border of 4th of June 1967 with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
