Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Riyadh on Monday to take part in the 9th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII), following a special invitation from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Accompanying the prime minister is a high-level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistants Tariq Fatemi and Bilal bin Saqib.
The three-day FII conference, hosted annually in the Saudi capital, gathers global leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss emerging trends shaping the world’s economic and technological landscape. This year’s theme focuses on sustainable development, innovation, and global economic transformation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz is expected to highlight Pakistan’s vision for inclusive and sustainable growth, as well as the country’s potential for foreign investment across key sectors including energy, technology, and infrastructure.
He will also underline Pakistan’s commitment to regional cooperation and economic resilience amid global challenges. During his stay, the prime minister will hold bilateral meetings with Saudi leadership, aimed at further deepening ties in trade, investment, energy cooperation, and labor export.

Officials said both sides will explore new avenues for Saudi investment in Pakistan under Vision 2030 and discuss ways to enhance workforce opportunities for Pakistani professionals.
PM Shehbaz Sharif will also meet with world leaders and heads of major international organizations attending the conference to exchange views on geopolitical shifts and sustainable development partnerships.
The discussions are expected to pave the way for greater collaboration between Pakistan and the global investers.
