CAIRO (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Pakistan after completing a two-day visit to Cairo, where he attended the 11th D-8 Summit of the Development Eight counties.
The two-day summit was themed “Investing in Youth and Supporting SMEs: Shaping Tomorrow’s Economy.”

Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr Sameh Ahmed El-Henawy, and officials from the Pakistani Embassy in Cairo bid farewell to the premier at the airport.
PM Shehbaz addressed a special session of the summit, where he highlighted the humanitarian crisis and reconstruction challenges in Gaza and Lebanon. He also underscored the impact of Israeli aggression in the Middle East.

The prime minister also held bilateral meetings with the world leaders on the sidelines of the summit. Earlier in the day, he met with Turkiye President Recap Tayyip Erdogan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Dr Yunus.
