Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday extended heartfelt felicitations to President Aleksandr Lukashenko on his election to a seventh term as the President of Belarus.
“Heartiest congratulations to my brother President Aleksandr Lukashenko on his historic victory in yesterday’s presidential elections. Wishing him continued success for a historic 7th term in office,” PM Shehbaz said in a statement on social media platform X.
“We will keep working together to realize our shared vision for stronger Pak-Belarus ties”, he statement added.
Alexander Lukashenko, in power since 1994, won a seventh consecutive tenure Sunday in the presidential election.
The 70-year-old ruler secured 87.6% of the vote, according to an official exit poll.
He won more of the vote than in 2020, when he won 81.04%.

Russian President Putin also congratulated Belarus leader Lukashenko on re-election, praised his “authority”.
“Your resounding victory clearly testifies to your high political authority and to the absolute support of the people for the state policy Belarus is pursuing,” Putin said.

Moreover, Chinese president Xi Jinping also felicitated Lukashenko on winning a seventh term in office.
