Mohammad Haneef Atmar, the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan spoke over a phone call with Marise Payne, the Foreign Minister of Australia on Wednesday.
Both parties spoke about a variety of issues, including the Afghan peace process, Afghanistan-Australia bilateral relations, the significance of the Taliban honoring their peace commitments in good faith, and Australia’s diplomatic presence in Afghanistan. They also highlighted the political, humanitarian, and defense cooperation between two countries with a focus on assistance to Afghanistan’s National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF).
The Foreign Minister of Afghanistan commended Australia for its unwavering support for Afghanistan during difficult times.
