Lahore, 29 August 2024 (TDI): A senior official has been suspected of engaging in activities leading to a conflict of interest, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) started an investigation.
A committee of inquiry was established as a result of the official’s company being reportedly involved in an outdoor billboard advertising bid procedure.
Whatever action is taken after this committee’s findings will be decided.
The board has released a notice about outdoor billboard advertising pre-qualification. One of the bids that was submitted was from a business connected to an HR department officer.
An investigation into the official’s possible conflict of interest and other allegations was started after the company was disqualified upon discovery.
The representative first denied having anything to do with the business but afterwards acknowledged having a role. This official has an interesting history of serving on multiple bid committees.
A few coworkers are allegedly attempting to shield him, but the investigation’s findings will determine the course of action.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is devoted to openness and will make choices based on the facts, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation.

The official will suffer serious consequences if found guilty of misconduct.
There were also rumors that a former director had given contracts to his own businesses in the past, which resulted in his becoming extremely wealthy, although he was the target of another lawsuit.
The board will continue to uphold its policy of not publicly addressing ongoing investigations, according to PCB officials who were approached but declined to comment.
