Islamabad, 3 September 2021 (TDI): The Embassy of France in Pakistan on Twitter expressed their absolute congratulations to champion Haider Ali on bringing the first-ever Paralympics Tokyo 2020 gold victory to the country.
This was the f37 throw event at Tokyo 2020 which has turned out brilliantly well for Pakistan. The Pakistani contestant won with a historic throw of 55.26 meters.
Haider at Paralympics
Haider made this historic triumph after setting and winning Pakistan’s first paralympic games in Tokyo. He became the first Pakistani to do these honors.
Haider has achieved this important milestone by throwing in his fifth attempt out of a total of six to score the best distance amongst his competitors. His length was 55.26 meters and this was 3 m longer than Ukraine’s Mykola Zhabnyak who has scored 52.43 m to be in second place. In third place was Brazilian Joao Victor Teixeira de Souza Silva.
On the official Twitter account, the Paralympics Games account mentioned this attempt as personal best for Haider.
Felicitation
Many officials and government representatives have sent their congratulatory messages to Haider Ali for his outstanding performance.
Minister of Punjab Sports Rai Taimppr Bhatti praised Haider for making this huge history. He has announced a 2.5 million PKR reward for the Olympian. Minister said that Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar will hand it over at a special ceremony upon his return.
Haider is employed with Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) as a Line Superintendent. Haider hopes that to receive a promotion from the job or a transfer to a higher department after this important win.
