Dubai (TDI): Palestine on Tuesday welcomed the adoption of a US-drafted UN Security Council resolution on Gaza, describing it as a significant step toward the recognition of Palestinian statehood and reaffirmation of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.
Palestinian officials called the resolution an important measure to secure a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire, ensure uninterrupted humanitarian aid, and restore normal life in Gaza.
They urged its immediate implementation, highlighting the need to protect civilians, prevent displacement, and achieve the full withdrawal of Israeli forces.
The statement emphasized that the resolution should support reconstruction efforts, safeguard the two-state solution, and prevent any moves toward annexation.

Such collaboration, they noted, is essential to ending the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, while advancing a political path toward a just and lasting peace based on international law and the two-state framework.
